Retrieve Additional Order Information in the Email Template
When the WooCommerce email customiser shortcode supports all built-in default order values, there may be situations where you might need additional order information. The meta information from WooCommerce emails can be obtained from the order meta table in the form of shortcodes stored by the WooCommerce email customiser.
Where do you find the order meta shortcodes?
As previously described for viewing WooCommerce email shortcodes, clicking the shortcodes button in one of the WooCommerce email templates will display the available shortcodes in a pop-up.
At the bottom of the pop-up you will find sections with the order meta shortcode, as shown below.
Select a sample order and click the “view order meta” button. This displays additional information from the WooCommerce shortcode of order_id for customers in an email template that has already been saved.
How do you retrieve order metadata in your email template?
Go to WooCommerce -> Email Customiser Plus -> Edit the email template in which you wanted to include the order metadata.
Add a shortcode in the following format: {{order_meta. your meta key}}
In my example this is: {{order_meta._wlpr_points_earned}} to retrieve the total points the customer has earned.
The customiser retrieves the respective order data and the key when sending the email.
Below is an example to show how metadata for the first name is added to an email with a completed order.
The metadata for first name {{order_meta._billing_first_name}} has been added to the transactional email.
In the same way you can add additional information to your WooCommerce order emails using the order meta shortcodes.
Transactional emails are a crucial part of order processing. That's why WooCommerce email customisation is necessary to create attractive invoices and order emails. Implementation of the decorator tool – Email Customiser Plus for WooCommerce provides great brand identity for your online business.
The plugin is so flexible and reliable that you can customise your WooCommerce emails with a few clicks. The email shortcodes in the plugin are used to add dynamic data. Add additional order information to the email template using WooCommerce order metadata which would help add value to your customers' inbox through your transactional emails.
Set yourself apart from competitors by creating attractive WooCommerce emails using the best WooCommerce email builder.
