What was at stake
The BIZ wanted to show what the business owners' contribution delivers. But there was no site for visitors. People arriving in Lemmer couldn't find the shops, restaurants and activities in one place.
What it delivers
- Visitors for the business owners. Businesses get visitors they would otherwise have missed. Every member is listed for free, in three languages.
- No agency needed. The BIZ puts events, news and businesses online itself. Business owners update their own details.
- Fairly shared. The order of the directory changes with each visit. Not always the same businesses on top.
- Found in Google and AI search. Every page is ready to read for search engines.

What I built
A portal in three languages with a business directory, events and news. Visitors add an event to their own calendar in one click. There's a live webcam over the IJsselmeer. Business owners sign up themselves. I also wrote the texts and found the photos. Live since 14 July 2026.
